The Mister Has Returned...

Well my husband is finally back home, and I have a little bit more time to blog again. This last week has been pretty crazy without his help around here. Now life can resume as normal, and I can finally relax a LITTLE!

I did the kettlebell thing on Monday again...I had to do 100 Kettlebell Snatch's per arm with a 20lb weight...I did them in 14:50, so that's a time to beat for the next time I get put through that tortue! If you want to find out what the Kettlebell Snatch looks like, just check it out on www.youtube.com

I am trying to take little steps to being more active as well in my everyday life, like today I was at the library, and instead of taking the elevator, which I normally do, I took the stairs, and I felt good about that!! Baby steps...lol.

Kettlebells are my BESTFRIEND....

Kettlebells and I have a love/hate relationship I love that they are helping my drop the pounds, but MAN do they suck...lol. Check out this video that our local news did on Kettlebells, and you can see the torture that I endure and my torturer being interviewed.

So I had another TOUGH session with Shane today, I am so glad I have a weekend to recover from it, however the husband is still gone, so I will have a full weekend alone with the kids and dog...so it won't allow me that much recovery time I suppose.

All Alone with two kids and a dog.

Well my husband has left me for the week to enjoy some music in Maryland with a bunch of friends...now I haven't decided if that's going to help or hinder my good eating, but I do know that without him here I am burning WAY more calories by chasing my kids around by my lonesome. It's definately harder to pick healthier options though when you are rushed, like tonight my 5 year old had T-Ball, so I am doing the one man show to try and get both kids get fed, then the older one ready for ball, and of course the dog fed and taken out as well. So Burritos for supper, but I have learned that it's not ALWAYS about exactly WHAT you eat, but the portion size, because no one can be perfect 100% of the time.

I also had another tortue session with Shane, and boy do I love kettlebells (sarcasm), although maybe I should love them more because they are helping me to dump the plump...HELLO 4 POUND WEIGHT LOSS this last week!!! It's all worth it, and I really enjoy the workout...once it's finished! Now after a very full day, I am relaxing on the couch...well deserved! Here's my menu...

8:30am

Gardening Day...

Well I did alot of gardening this weekend, I spent the entire day today in my yard, was out there until the sun went down...LITERALLY! I was doing alot of digging and shoveling, so that must count as physical labour. Because of the holiday there was no tortue session with Shane, and I think my calves were very thankful for that because they are STILL hurting me!

I forgot to type up my food journal from yesterday...and I wrote it all down in a notebook, but to be truthful my dog ate it...no seriously, my dog got a hold of the journal and chewed it to bits....so I can't exactly remember what I ate yesterday, but I know I came in around 1900 calories for the day.

Will I ever walk normal again?

Well my calves are KILLING me today, thanks be to jump pull ups. I can visualize my sexy calves forming....lol....but as of right now I am sure I look pretty hillarious trying to walk half normal. Oh the joys of exercise! We had a lazy rainy day today, didn't do much of anything, but I started journaling my food and counting calories again, so that's a great help to keep me on track, and now for today's verdict of my foods.

10:00am
1 Package Quaker's Instant Oatmeal (Peaches and Cream)........130 Cal

1:00pm
1 Kirkland Garden Burger Patty................................200 Cal

TGIF.

What a day today has been, was feeling a bit overwhelmed today with the kidlets and our puppy....but I feel way better after my tortue session with Shane. Working out really relieves the stress, better than eating away your sorrows, although I have never been an "emotional eater", but I can see how some people might do it.

I did a bunch more kettlebell exercises, and some jump pull ups, which LOOK like they might be enjoyable, but they surely are not!

I also met with Emily today, the dietician, and I am instructed to start journalling what I am eating again, as I have kinda got out of that lately. So aren't you all excited to read what I have been eating again?!!?!?! lol. It will keep me eating good, because I sure do not want to be writing down Pizza for Breakfast and Chips for snack. I will make you all proud, this weight is coming off, I feel SOOO good today, I feel much better than this morning, and I just KNOW I am going to do this.

Even though my muscles will cry and my belly might crave salty chips, I will NOT FAIL! I feel like I am a motivational speaker, I can envision myself standing on a soapbox and talking about racism...lol.

Anyhoo, I am going to start food journalling again tomorrow, and I hope you all have a great long weekend!

So it's been a while since I weighed myself, and I have gained about two pounds in the last month and a half, which isn't even that bad considering the little amount of exercise I did and the poor eating...but I am back, and I have been working out HARD.

Last Wednesday I did TIRE FLIPS, like with a huge tire, I had to squat down, lift it up (with my legs) and flip it, and I had to continue flipping it across a gravel pit in Temple Fitness's outdoor workout area, and then when I reached the end of the gravel pit, I had to flip it back, then PUSHUPS, then back to tire flips, etc. I did that for a good 45 minutes. I have a nasty bruise aswell to prove the WRATH OF THE TIRE.

Then on Friday I did some interval training on the treadmill, even though my legs were feeling like JELLO from my workouts earlier in the week. I did 45 minutes, with walking/running intervals and it added up to 4 kilometres...woo woo.

On the weekend I took a minor break for the typical workouts, but I did go to the pool with the family and built a fence, so that must count for some physical labor.

And now MONDAY, I went through some more torture from Shane...I had to pull a weight attached to a harness down a VERY LONG ALLEY (at least it felt very long) in the 30 degree heat, and then back again....PLUS more kettlebell workouts and a few mountclimbers for good measure!

This weight is getting dumped and nothing is going to get in my way!

Feeling 90 years old...

Well I am back at the workouts, stronger than every, thanks to SHANE at Temple Fitness. He's my new trainer, and he sure brings on the hurt. I did a kettlebell workout and it worked sooo many muscles, infact those same muscles are crying right now, but in a good way....lol. So now I am working out with Shane Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and I am going to continue to do my interval training on the treadmill on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I didn't hit the treadmill today though, I need a little more recovery time because of the pain I am in.

I did however shovel gravel tonight to make a pad for our new shed, so theres some more physical labor to help drop these pounds.

As a smaller goal I would like to lose 60 pounds by the end of the summer, so I am really getting strict!!!! No more bad eating, no more late night snacking...no more pop.

I did forget to weigh myself on Monday, so I will try to remember for tomorrow morning.

Back on the wagon...

In case you haven't noticed...I haven't written on here in a LONG time...I FELL OFF THE WAGON...booo...I stopped trained with Jeff...her dumped me...lol...he's just too busy with life, which is okay I understand, and I thought I could do the gym thing by myself...but with no one to make an appointment with, I just chose not to leave my house to make it to the gym. With not going to the gym in kinda made me throw my good eating out the window too.

BUTTTTT....I AM BACK people, I am not letting a couple of weeks of bad eating and no exercise let me lose track of my long term goal, and that is STILL to lose 100 pounds.

I am still not eating meat, and I never thought I would say this, but I can't see myself eating it again and I am really enjoying the new lifestyle I have adopted. I have watched a lot of documentary's lately and read a bunch of articles, and they have really changed my mind on meat in general. It's now not only a weight loss thing, but a lifestyle thing, and it's not just about the health reasons, but the animal reasons too!!! I encourage everyone to watch the following documentaries...
1)The Cove 2)Food Inc. 3)End of the Line

And read... Diet for a New America and Eating Animals

Anyway, I haven't weighed myself in a long time, because I don't want to face the music of gaining some, but I am going to work out and eat right this week and I will do a brand new weigh in on Monday!!!! And I no matter what that number is I am NOT going to give up! I was doing so good for soo long!

I am now trying to train myself to RUN....so I am focusing most of my exercising on cardio, I am doing running interval training on the treadmill; 4 minutes of walking then 1 minute of running, back and forth doing that! And I lasted 45 minutes yesterday! And I am also doing Aquasize to switch up my exercising and to focus more on toning, using the resistance of the water.

Sorry to leave ya'll hanging, but I AM BACK! And I still working on my goal!

Thanks for reading!

Not the greatest loss this week, but it's still a loss, so that's good...I will make it to my goal, slowly but surely.

Things are going well with my eating, I am doing pretty good with snacking too, although on the weekend I had some alcohol, so those were added calories that I really did not need. I am trying to wake up earlier and go to bed earlier, just to get into an all around "healthier" routine....but things are good, I am really loving life this week.

Love my kids and my new puppy and my weightloss!

Going to the gym now...

SOOO SORE!

Well I worked out with Jeff on Wednesday, and it was BRUTAL, it was way harder than what we have been doing lately. We didn't use any machines, it was burpees, pushups, crunches, squat with medicine ball, etc. I was sure sweating, and it's FRIDAY, and my legs and arms are still sooo sore I can barely walk or kneel...but that means I was working HARD. I AM A BURNIN'.

Also we just got a brand new addition to our family, A PUPPY, her name is Juno, and she is sooo cute. I am really excited to take her on walks everyday, yay, more exercise too.

I have a wedding to go to tomorrow, so I am not sure what my food choices will be, but I definately won't be able to eat the meat...so that will help me to hopefully make better food choices. And maybe dancing up a storm will burn some calories.

Have a Great Weekend...

Night.

Gym Nerves...

Well I finally got my butt back to the gym, I only went twice last week because it was just a crazy busy week, but this week, no excuses and I kicked my own butt at the gym. It was busy at the gym and normally I get kinda nervous to do my work out when so many people are around, especially many people that are in very good shape. But I pushed through my nervousness and the "juice heads" (as Snooki from Jersey Shore would say), and I did my weights and my cardio and even laid down in the middle of the floor of the busy gym to do my ball crunches. I just kept my eye on the prize!

I watched the documentary Food Inc last night and it made me sad, it definately made me rethink the whole vegetarian thing. I used to only want to do it temporarily and for health reasons, but now I am leaning more towards long term and for the sake of the animals as well as health. I highly recommend you all watch it.

Today I ate some home made Pad Thai for supper with tofu, yumm yumm. And I bought mini popcorn bags, so I am not forced to eat a whole huge bag by myself! That is an improvement.

Just gonna watch some of my Tuesday Shows...BIGGEST LOSER, gonna get some more inspiration perhaps!

WEIGH DAY...

Well I do have to say I have somewhat gotten out of writing EVERY day on this blog, but life has been sooo busy lately. Last week I only worked out twice :( But I have still kept on track with my eating, with the occasional evening that I might get together with friends and eat snacks. The vegetarian thing is also going good, I am feeling good, and I am not really missing meat yet, I have been able to make really great tasting food without using meat!

Anyway, today is WEIGH DAY....

I wish my progress was going a little faster, but I know you only get back what you put in, and I am not EXTREMEMLY strict with my eating, and I usually only work out 3 days a week. But they do day 1-2 pounds a week is the healthy way to lose weight, so I guess I am doing it the healthy way!

I will try to write more this week, I think things are going to slow down a bit for me now.

Luck of the Irish.

Happy St. Patty's Day, no drinkin' for me, although I don't drink normally either, but alcohol has alot of empty calories, just a little side not for yah.

I have been eating good lately, but that's probably because I haven't got groceries in a LONG time, so I literally do not have any snack food in my house to eat. (I still have a store of popcorn though).

I made some vegetable thai curry for supper with a side of brown rice, it was delish. Although it's so hard to figure out what the calories are on something when you make it from scratch, and it includes so many different things. Especially for me because when I cook and eat I do not ever measure anything. I haven't been as strict with counting my calories either lately, I am pretty sure I am on track, but I know counting them, really helps to keep me accountable, especially when I post it here.

The vegetarian thing is still going well, I just need to go buy some more groceries. But everything I have made so far has been edible, and 99% of them are actually DELICIOUS!!!! And it sure is fun to make new recipes and really experiement with different flavors!

Worked out today with Jeff and Khrista, I love working out with Jeff, he really pushes a person, which is good, because some days I just don't want to push myself! I wish I could work out with him more, but thems the breaks! OH OH OH, and I forgot to say I did my first EVER "male" push-up.....EVER, never in my entire life have I been able to do one, and I did one the other day, just one, but one is SOOO great!

Anyhoo, I still have 83 more pounds to go, so I will keep up the good work, I wish I could say great work, but losing weight is tough!

One pound this week, that seems kind of pathetic, but they do say 1 - 2 pounds a week is the proper way to lose weight, I wish it was more, but a pound is a pound!

I had SUCH a busy weekend, I decided to rip apart my kitchen and re-do my cabinets, so eating was kinda put on the back burner, in fact on Saturday all I had was an Apple for breakfast, a piece of toast for lunch, then soup, garlic bread and salad for supper. After midnight when I was finally done the first coat of stain on the cabinet trim, I was SOOOO hungry, so I grabbed whatever, and whatever included leftover garlic bread and snack mix. So that wasn't the best, but I didn't have many calories throughout the day, which probably wasn't good either, it's bad to eat too little calories too.

Going to varathane some more cabinets today, and make it to the gym later this evening!

Slackin' on the blogs.

Does anyone really care what I am eating, it's getting to be somewhat repetitive, maybe I should change my format a bit, and just write my triumphs and fails, and share some recipes that I find that are delicious every now and again.

I met with Jeff (trainer @ Snap) on Wednesday with my faithful workout partner Khrista, and we got a whole new workout regime, so on Thursday Khrista and I met up to test out the workout, and it sucks...in a good way sucks though. It definately pays to switch up the program, I can tell I am working my muscles in a different way by the way my body is hurting today, the day after is always the worst.

I have been eating pretty good, and my snacking in the evenings has been under control the last couple of days. Although yesterday I promised my daughter I would take her for ice cream, and I got a blizzard for myself, just a small though, I asked for a kids size first, but they don't sell kids sized blizzards...boooo.

I plan on going to workout again today, even though my muscles are yelling at me. No pain no gain, and by gain I mean loss...weight loss.

Well I lost those 5 pounds that I supposedly gained last week, but I think it was mostly fluid or hormones anyway, so I am glad I lost those pounds from last week, but I was hoping for a bit of a higher number this week to make up for it. Oh well, at least I am still losing, I will take every pounds I can get.

In case you didn't notice, I also haven't written on here for a few days, life has just been so darn busy, but all weekend I ate pretty good, I did have a few chips and snacks at a "game night" with friends, but I tried not to go overboard, and one day every so often is not going to kill a person! We are still not eating meat, and I have made some pretty darn good recipes. I am so happy that I have done this experiment, because even if we eventually go back to eating meat, I will have some many great recipes that I can still use, and we probably will never go back to eating meat EVERY day!

Thanks for your support and reading,

So I took a trip to Nutters today (I even walked there for some extra exercise) and I found some great vegetarian finds, and I tried a new recipe today to make Seitan "Ribs" and they were really great! So maybe I CAN do this Vegetarian thing, I am not missing meat YET, and I feel good!

NO MEAT...

So today was day one of no meat, and to go fully vegetarian (with no dairy)is TOUGH. ESPECIALLY being in a smaller center in ALBERTA (meat central)...there is just a lack of products and food that is essential for vegetarians. I am learning though, and I know it will be healthy! Let's so how long I can last.

WEIGH DAY...

Starting Weight: (January 4th, 2010)
274.8

Today's Weight:
262

Loss Since Last Week:
+5

Pounds to Go:
88

PLUS FIVE POUNDS, I just don't understand how that could be?!?!? I know I had the flu last week and lost alot of fluid, and I haven't eaten the GREATEST this weekend, but I did NOT physically eat enough calories to gain that much....AHHHHHHHH, SOOO FRUSTRATING!

Well moving on, I will NOT let the scale ruin my motivation, I will not "fall off the wagon" because of it. In fact TODAY is March 1st and today we no longer eat meat or dairy....so I am confident that this new lifestyle will kick up my weightloss and hopefully next week I can make up for what I did NOT do this week!

Thanks for your support and reading,
Anee

Mini Holiday...

So in case you haven't notice, i took the weekend off from blogging! I didn't do GREAT with my eating, but it wasn't REALLY bad either. I had pretty good meals, although at supper at Lee's grandparents I had TWO large pieces of WHITE bread...*gasp*, but only one bowl of hearty soup. In the evening's I had nacho's and cheese...and on Sunday I had my "last meal", as March 1st is vegetarianism for us....we chose to go out with a bang, and had our last meal at "Five Guys, Burgers and Fries"....and I had Coke with my meal...booo. But it's my LAST meal, I had to do something bad...lol.

Tomorrow is a new day, a new week, a new lifestyle and WEIGH DAY! I am not looking forward to tomorrow as I am pretty sure my numbers aren't going to be good, seeing as how last week I had the flu and had a large loss number, I am assuming I will have gained due to getting back the fluids I lost and the not very great eating this weekend. It's all just a small hiccup in my masterplan though, and I am not discouraged, so I hope you all are not either!

P.S. YAY FOR CANADA's golds at the Olympics!!! (especially Hockey)

Go CANADA,

LITTLE screw up...

It's amazing how a tiny little screw up will totally change your daily calories. I ate pretty good all day, but missing snacks is never a good idea, because when you are out and about you grab something that is NOT GOOD for you! And tonight for my evening snack I had NACHO'S AND CHEESE, granted it was only a small plate, but still, those were calories I seriously did not need.

Also I had my nephews birthday party today, and I there were snacks set out, and I only ate ONE CHIP, ONLY ONE, that's really great for me, and I had only a few small bites of an ice cream desert. So you win some, you lose some. Today wasn't my best day, but at least I can realize it and move on tomorrow!

I worked out today with Khrista again, that's two days in a row for me, it's a little tougher when you don't have a day to rest in between, but we did good by ourselves and we made it through!

P.S. You should drink LOTS AND LOTS of water, it's pretty important!

Another Day...

I don't know if my posts are getting repetitive, it seems like I should screw up really bad or do something stupid to creative an interesting scenario. But alas, I have had a good day. Worked out with Khrista today and I think we pushed pretty hard, I was sweating, that means something! I am really feeling just so great these days, I don't really feel like this eating right and exercising is that hard lately, YOU CAN DO IT TOOO! I even looked at the treats when I was shopping at Costco today, and as much as I wanted to eat them, it didn't really take much to NOT eat them. So life is improving, and I truthfully believe I could do this until I reach my goal and beyond!

I don't have too many days left before I go completely vegetarian (along with the rest of my family) but we have already started eating that way, and I must say I am feeling good, and I am not going through meat withdrawal YET...I am still going for a "last meat" meal on Sunday, bring on the burgers!

Thanks for whoever is reading and following, this blog is really helping me stay on track!

Anee
by the way, for people that don't know me, My name is STEPHANIE, but my husband always always calls me Anee - pronounce A-KNEE, like StephANIE, so now you know)

This is getting EASY...

I am feeling sooo good lately, it almost feels like I have cured myself of my food addiction. Today I didn't feel like HAVING to eat ALL that was on my plate, or having to have SECONDS of my supper. I would like to think I am CURED but maybe I am just still getting over the flu, who knows. But I would like think it's being cured.
Now that I have started seeing results everything really just seems easy, so I think the trick is to stick it out until you can make it to the point where you start seeing those results, and sometimes it takes a while before you can figure out how your body best works out and best uses food.

Technically I started my weightloss journey back in October, I started working out hard, but I just wasn't seeing the results on the scale...granted I felt way fitter and I could physically do WAY MORE, but the pounds weren't dropping. I must admit it's 80% nutrition; your trainer ot your workout's can only do so much, it all comes down to what you choose to eat...it's all YOUR CHOICE! And I am FINALLY making the right choices for myself! So I am really happy!

I AM DOING IT, I really just can't believe it sometimes...I am sooo excited for myself!

So today was a great day, tomorrow should be a GREAT work out with Jeff. I am SOOOOO happy with myself and my progress, and I can't wait to drop more pounds!

Until Tomorrow
Anee

P.S. I think I am going to quit saying I am going to be a "vegan" because I am not fully considering myself a vegan, to be a vegan you have to use absolutely NO animal products at ALL, and that includes many soaps, shampoo's, sugar's, clothing, etc.... and truthfully I am not that dedicated...instead I am just going to consider it vegetarian, with the removal of most dairy products as well.

I also worked out today, HARD. Jeff came to show me and Khrista (my workout partner) what we should be doing on the days that we aren't going to be able to work out with him, and he made it HARDER than the days when we are with him...which is good, the pounds are definately going to melt off! And Khrista and I can push each other. I highly recommend meeting with a friend or someone to work out with, that way if you schedule it in with someone you are more likely to make that appointment!

So in case you are curious as to what kind of workouts I am doing...we are doing interval training...we use a weight machine, and do various reps on various body parts until the point of exhaustion, then we hop on the elliptical or treadmill and go hard for 3 minutes, and then back to the weight machine again until exhaustion, and then back to the elliptical/treadmill, etc. etc. etc. etc. until you feel like DEATH...lol. Even some of the "fit" people at the gym were looking at Khrista and I with PITY...lol.

I just have to say how EXCITED I am for this journey, I have already lost 17.8 pounds due to DIET AND EXERCISE, and I am not doing a "fad" diet, I am just making better choices (well most days).

I AM DOING IT PEOPLE, I AM DOING IT!

If I can do it, you can do it!

Movies are BAAD for snacking...

I literally CAN NOT go to the movie theatre and NOT get popcorn, the smells just entice me, it's like that call my name. So I went and saw the movie Precious tonight, and I got my popcorn, but I didn't get a large and I didn't get butter, so that's an improvement right?!?! RIGHT?!?! And there diet pop was out of order, so I had a regular pop, booo, why didn't I just get water...but I only got a small.

By the way, Precious was an AMAZING movie, it was good in soo many ways, definately heartbreaking too...I am so glad it wasn't a "true story" although I am sure there are true stories like it out there....so sad! It's definately a MUST SEE!

Jeesh, can I never watch a movie again, I need some advice....what do I do when I go to the movie theatre, how do I quit popcorn, I feel like an addict!

My calf's, thighs and triceps are aching SOOOO BAD today, thanks Jeff for that! lol. Although I would much much much rather those muscles hurt me than my back, oh thank goodness my back is back in business! And as for my legs and arms...no pain no gain....well I don't know if GAIN is the right word, I sure don't want to gain anything, trying to LOSE IT!

MY MUSCLES ARE HUGE...lol.
Anee

Also, just thought I would share a picture of myself a few years ago (about 3.5 Years ago). YES this IS actually me...can you believe it.

This was the smallest I have EVER been in my adult life, and I was still 195 pounds....I WILL get back there someday, and even smaller....oh life is great!

Cleanin' out the Meat...

Well the days of me eating meat are slowly coming to a close, and I have literally been eating all the meat and dairy out of my house, so that we will be meat and dairy free by March 1st. Now just to clarify, I am not necessarily saying I will be able to be a Vegan FOREVER, although I am sure my husband would love it, but I really like the taste of most meat. So our family will be fully Vegan as of March 1st, but for me it's just to kick up my healthy factor, because we all know meat and dairy really isn't good for us, well maybe we all don't KNOW (read Diet for a New America and you will). So I will try my best to fully kick out the meat and dairy just to get my health back on track, and I will try to continue that Vegan path as long as I can, no promises!

I also worked out today with Jeff (Snap Fitness - Trainer), and with my faithful workout buddy Khrista. It sure is nice to have someone telling you what to do, when to do it, and pushing you harder when you don't want to do anymore! However I am now only going to be training one on one with Jeff, ONCE A WEEK...ahhhh...which is probably a good test for myself, to prove that I can keep it up, do what I need to do, and work out hard by myself. Well I won't do it all by myself, I will still partner up with Khrista and we can push each other.

If anyone else wants to offer to work out with me just let me know, I am always up for some company, and I like to show off the moves I can do now too...lol.

Fell Asleep Yesterday.

So I fell asleep last night on the couch before I had a chance to do my blog, so this is my entry for yesterday...

(by the way falling asleep prevents you from eating...lol)

I am not going to do my whole menu from yesterday, but my total calories were just over 1750. So that's right on track from what I try to be!

By the way, did you know that all you have to do to find out how many calories you need daily to MAINTAIN your current weight is...

CURRENT WEIGHT x 10 = Daily Calories needed to MAINTAIN your current weight.

So for ME,... 260 x 10 = 2600, so I would need 2600 calories a day to maintain my current weight, and that's without doing exercise too. 3500 Calories a week equals ONE POUND, so to lose ONE POUND a week you would need to eat 500 calories less a day then normal.

Obviously if you are exercising, you should eat a little bit more, and you should never eat too little calories, otherwise your body will go into starvation mode, and will start eating away at muscle instead of fat.

There's your lesson for the day...lol.

I will blog later this evening to tell how my day went today!

Thanks for reading,
Anee

I don't know if you all have similar problems, but I can eat SOOO good all day, but once the sun goes down and the kids are in bed, all I want to do it eat, it's definately my biggest struggle. Any suggestions on how to stop the evening snacking would be appreciated.

I also did my own workout today, tried using my BOSU Ball, I did a "Calorie Combustion" workout, it was one of the workouts that was on the DVD it came with, except the guy who explains what to do was soooo random, and I pretty much just ended up doing my own thing, I was still sweating up a storm though. BOSU balls are really awesome in a tough workout sort of way!

FAIL...

So today was a definate failure, but it's only one small bump in the long road, and tomorrow is a new day.

I am not going to add up my calories today, as it's just too dissapointing, but I will let you know what I ate...sigh.

Snack
Half Bag of Popcorn
Slice of Ice Cream Cake

So now you know what I ate, I am defiantely not perfect, but at least I am not lieing about it! I did have a great Valentine's Day though, and I hope you all did too.

Tonight my left knee started causing me a great deal of pain, it seems like just when one body part starts to heal (back), another is falling apart. But I am sure my joints are hurting because I am overweight and out of shape, so it just gives me all the more reason to stick to the program and dump the plump. Bring on the ice for the knee.

TOMORROW is WEIGH DAY

Family get togethers are THE WORST for eating...

My brother, sister-in-law and niece came into town this weekend, which meant getting together for a few meals, and playing games, along with snacks. It's so much fun to see them and get together, but it makes me eat bad...because when I have people over at my house I feel like I should get them snacks, then I end up eating some.

So today's menu is not my favorite, but I'm not perfect, one day at a time, hopefully it doesn't ruin my weigh in on Monday...

Today's Menu

Breakfast
Carrot Muffin
Cheese String

Have to put Lee in a Bubble...

So Lee got super sick today, flu I guess, so I wasn't able to make it to my work out, so no exercise for today, but I will definitely try to fit a couple things in over the course of this long weekend to make up for it.

I sure wish I didn't like food, because I would definitely consider myself a food addict, losing weight is more difficult than quitting smoking, p.s. I have been SMOKE FREE for almost 3 years (April 22). It's all in the head; you need to get the right mindset in order to truly succeed in the weight loss. I am trying to quit food mentally which I think was the trick to quitting smoking as well, I just have to eat to live instead of live to eat!

Today's Menu

I didn't realize corn had so many calories, I wouldn't recommend eating corn very often, it's not one of the best vegetables for you that's for sure. For ONE CUP of corn it was over 200 calories...whoa, I never knew.

Today was good and bad, I just felt like eating ALL DAY, especially donuts, I just wanted to drive through Timmy's and order some good 'ole honey dip tim bits, or eat a whole crap load of carrot muffins, there carrot so that's okay RIGHT?!?!?!!?

Although I had nasty cravings ALL DAY, I DIDN'T GIVE IN, oh boy did I want to, but I DIDN'T. I made it through. So that's the good news.

Still super sore today, thanks Jeff for that....my shoulders ache, my legs ache, my buns ache....blah. But it's all going to be worth it in the end. I really am starting to love to workout....especially when the workout is OVER...lol.

BEFORE PICTURE!

Just thought I would share a "before" photo, this photo was taken this past summer, and I was around 275, I will try to post a recent photo about once a month, because sometimes it's nice to get a visual on the progress.

Isn't it "funny" that you never truly realize how much weight you have gained until you see a picture of yourself, even mirrors just don't seem to tell the whole truth. I am so looking forward to the day when I can love the pictures that I see of myself!!!

My muscles are huge...

Jeff (my trainer - Snap Fitness) really hurt me today, maybe I shouldn't have told him my back was feeling better...lol. But the hurt is a good hurt, and every workout puts me a little closer towards me goal, and I am so thankful for getting the opportunity to train with Jeff.

I just felt my leg muscle and it honestly feels HUGE...I even made Lee (my husband) feel it, he's impressed...ha ha ha. Life is good when your muscles are huge...lol.

Today's Menu

Total Calories: 1843

When you love a food soo much it's so hard to not overeat it, that's one of my biggest down falls. Today I refrained myself, I ate a small portion of lasagna and didn't take seconds, oh how badly I wanted seconds, and I only had one piece of garlic toast, and normally I would have had several! I also took out the croutons in my salad, because i checked out the calories and it was like 35 Calories per 3 croutons...WHAT...that's ridiculous.

I also have another countdown that I am going to start...the countdown to Veganism...my husband was a vegetarian when I met him, however I have never really been onboard, because I really enjoy meat...sigh....but now with some close friends of ours I have decided to get on board, plus no meat = no cholesteral = healthier life.

Buns of Steel

When I said my goal was to lose 100 pounds, it seemed almost unachieveable, and just such a hard thing to do, but now that I can say that I only have 88 more pounds to go, that number seems WAY less daunting then 100, so I am defianately encouraged.

Feeling sooo good today, sore, but SORE is GOOD. My gluteous maximus (aka BUM muscle) is a burning, and that's from doing my workout BY MYSELF yesterday, so I am proud that I pushed myself, by myself, hard.

Also for the first day in a LONG TIME, my back has started to feel BETTER, I didn't even need ibuprofen today, so things are going really well. I am proud, and I CAN'T WAIT to continue this week and work hard.

This is not a diet for me it's a lifestyle change so it's important for me to find a healthier way to eat the things I love.

Until Tomorrow...

Dance Dance...

So it's Sunday, and tomorrow is WEIGH DAY. I actually cheated and weighed myself today for a sneak peek, but I am NOT TELLIN' until tomorrow. Just to be clear as to my goals and where I am starting from....

I started at 274 lbs a little over a month ago (YIKES), and my goal is to lose 100 pounds -- so for all of you who may not have the best math skills, my goal weight is 174 pounds. Now obviously I have already lost SOME weight, but I got off of track for the past 3 weeks because of my back injury, but I am back at it...and I am glad to share this journey with you.

Today I was pretty good with my eating, no major failures, although I really do need to start eating MORE veggies and fruits.

Today's Menu...

Breakfast - Once again leftover turkey sandwich.
361 Calories
Lunch - Chicken/Cheese Chimichanga
Snap Peas
388 Calories
Snack - Vegetable Thins
100 Cal Chocolate Treat
180 Calories
Supper - Turkey Sausage on a Bun
Sweet Potatoe Fries
Grand Parisian Salad (from Costco)
570 Calories
Snack - Half Bag of Popcorn
180 Calories

Total Calories: 1679 Calories

Today my exercise kinda happened by accident...Lee got Dance Dance Revolution from a friend, and Novalee (our daughter) was playing it, and I thought I would give it a try, and before I knew it I was having a full on Sweaty Dance Revolution. Calories Burned: 62

We also took Novalee skating, so there was alot of shuffling on the ice for me, so I maybe burned a couple of calories doing that as well....lol. I have a REAL work out tomorrow with Jeff, looking forward to that! Weekends over.

If you are interested in calorie counting or losing weight yourself, you should check out www.fitday.com it's my best resource for counting calories and tracking my weight loss success. I highly recommend it!

Let's amputate my back....

...3 weeks ago I really hurt my back -- not really sure how, but enough to give me a one way ticket by ambulance to the hospital. And for the past 3 weeks (and still) my back has been very sore, I really only missed a few full work outs after my back injury, and I did get back at it...but my trainer just has been a little "nicer" to me.

With the injury and the slight decrease of my fitness, I have to admit my nutrition really went down hill. I ate numerous cinnamon buns, toast with cinnamon sugar, chips, munchies and GASP PEPSI...so TODAY was a NEW day for me, my back is STILL sore, but I am determined to NOT give up, and continue to work out, and MORE IMPORTANTLY eat WELL!!

So today's menu...

Breakfast - Leftover Turkey Sandwich (I admit it I like leftovers for breakfast)
361 Calories
Lunch - Baked Chicken Breast w/ Mrs. Dash (once again enjoying leftovers)
Mashed Cauliflower/Potato (my secret weapon for mashed potatoes)
Mixed Veggies
320 Calories
Snack - Vegetable Thins - Reduced Salt
Green Grapes
195 Calories
Supper - Thai Chicken Curry (Sabi Restaurant)
1/2 Cup Rice
680 Calories (estimation)
Snack - Half Bag of Popcorn
180 Calories

Total Calories: 1736

My biggest struggle today was eating out...we just didn't get home in time to be able to cook a proper healthy and nutritious meal...I tried to pick a healthier option, ordered a small portion and didn't eat all my rice.

If you have any suggestions for me on how to heal my back faster or anything regarding nutrition or exercise I would be open to listen to them, OR if you want more info from ME on recipes and exercises, just let me know.

No exercises for me today...Mondays are WEIGH DAYS, I will keep you posted.

The Beginning...

So recently I have decided that IT IS TIME, to get my butt in gear to take my extra pounds off, and I sure have alot of them. I wanted a way that would help me be accountable for what I eat and how much I exercise, so I figured I would blog about it. I am so excited to start this journey. I will update daily (or TRY at least),

I plan to post what I eat, what exercises I complete daily, and how I feel. I will also weigh myself weekly, and yes I will post it, it will be my brutal truth of what weight I am at now, and will no longer be at in the future.

Currently I am training with Jeff Markusson, an amazing person and personal trainer and lately we have been working out at Snap Fitness; he guides me down the exercise path (if YOU would like more information on training with Jeff, just let me know).

In the past couple of months I have also trained with Stephanie Fraser (Temple Fitness), and Melissa Schafer (MommyFit @ Temple Fitness), all of these trainers and programs I would highly recommend.

Although I have already started my weight loss journey and I will officially start posting about it tomorrow! So stay tuned, and help me dump the plump.

Chow.
